Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of HotelsRating. The short version: we publish an independent hotel rating computed by a public formula; you may use it freely, hotels may claim their pages and subscribe to management tools, and nobody — including paying customers — can buy a score.
1. What the service is
HotelsRating is a hotel rating service operated by Hotelsrating LLC, Sharjah, UAE. We compute and publish the Hotelsrating Index (HRI) — a single score per hotel derived from cross-source review consensus, expert recognition, facility data and related signals, under the methodology published at https://hotelsrating.com/methodology.
We are not a travel agency and not a booking platform: we do not sell rooms, take booking payments, or act as a party to any reservation. Booking links on hotel pages lead to third-party partners, and your contract for the stay is with them or with the hotel. We are also not a review platform: we aggregate and analyze existing public signals rather than hosting traveler reviews.
2. Score Integrity
This section is a binding commitment, not marketing.
- Every hotel's HRI score, medal, and position in any ranking is computed by the published formula from independent data.
- No payment, subscription, advertising spend, affiliate relationship or other commercial relationship with us affects any score, medal, or ranking position — in either direction.
- No paid product we offer grants visibility within rated results. Sponsored content, where present, is labeled and displayed outside rating and ranking components.
- Hotels have no contractual right to demand a score change. The available remedies are the public right of reply and factual corrections submitted with evidence, which are reviewed and, where verified, change the underlying data — the only legitimate way a score moves. See the Integrity Policy.
- Requests to alter, suppress, or guarantee a score in exchange for payment or business are refused and logged.
3. Accounts
Browsing requires no account. An account is needed to personalize ratings, submit videos, claim a hotel, or manage a subscription. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and be at least 16. You can delete your account at any time on the Data Deletion page; deletion is immediate.
4. Hotel claims and owner tools
Representatives of a hotel may claim its page free of charge. Claims are verified manually; we may request proof that you act for the property and may reject or revoke a claim. A verified claim unlocks management tools: editing hotel details, responding publicly to the score breakdown, uploading official videos, and submitting factual corrections with evidence. Public responses are premoderated and must be factual and civil.
5. Hotel subscriptions
The owner subscription costs USD 1 per room per month, billed monthly through Stripe, and unlocks management and analytics features. It does not affect scores or rankings (see Section 2). You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. Details are in the Refund Policy.
6. Content you submit
You keep ownership of videos and other content you submit. By submitting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content on the service and in previews of it. You must hold the rights to what you upload. We may remove content that violates the Content Policy or the law. See that policy for the full rules.
7. Bookings and partner links
Hotel pages may show links to booking partners. We may earn a commission when you book through them; commissions never influence scores or the order of partners shown. The booking contract, payment, cancellation and support are between you and the partner or hotel. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- manipulate or attempt to manipulate ratings, including coordinated or fabricated signals;
- misrepresent affiliation with a hotel when claiming a page;
- scrape the service at scale or republish our data beyond the permitted use in Section 9;
- upload unlawful content or content you have no rights to;
- interfere with the operation or security of the service.
Manipulation attempts can reduce a hotel's data confidence, as described in the methodology, and can lead to account termination.
9. Intellectual property and data use
The HRI, the site, and our databases are our intellectual property. You may quote individual scores with attribution to HotelsRating and a link. Systematic reproduction of scores or rankings, or commercial redistribution of our data, requires a license — contact [email protected]. Hotel names, brands and photos belong to their owners.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The HRI is an analytical opinion based on data, as described in the Disclaimer, and is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of scores, for the conduct of hotels or booking partners, or for indirect or consequential damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. Sections 2, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.
12. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Sharjah, UAE. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site before taking effect, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
