About this hotel
Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa sits within Daintree National Park in far north Queensland, a working example of sustainable hospitality in one of Australia's oldest tropical rainforests. The property combines accommodation with a spa operation, both designed around low-impact principles. The setting is remote and immersive: guests wake to native bird calls and can explore walking trails directly from the lodge. The eco-focus extends to construction, materials, and daily operations rather than sitting as a marketing layer. In 2025, the property won World Travel Awards' recognition as Oceania's Leading Green Hotel, a citation that reflects third-party validation of its environmental practices rather than self-description. The lodge draws travellers who want nature-based retreat over resort amenities, and who are willing to trade convenience for proximity to wilderness.
