The Singapore EDITION

The first property from the EDITION brand — a collaboration between pioneering hotelier Ian Schrager and Marriott Hotels & Resorts — in Southeast Asia, The Singapore EDITION is a study in colors and textures. Opened in November 2023, it was designed by global powerhouse Safdie Architects (the outfit behind the iconic Jewel Changi Airport, which sits 45 minutes away) and local firm DP Architects.For shoppers, the location is hard to beat. Ten minutes on foot brings you to the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s de facto Fifth Avenue or Rodeo Drive. And yet the hotel’s site, on a quiet street with handsome, leafy landscaping, makes it a refuge from Orchard’s bustle. The slatted facade, combining bronze and glass, coupled with an almost-yesteryear cobblestone driveway, lends The Singapore EDITION a pleasingly secluded, private feel.Once inside the property, you will find bold spaces that resound with Schrager’s trademark minimalist sensibilities. That said, generous additions of greenery and splashes of vibrant color throughout the hotel add both comfort and vigor to the standard sleek, chic setup.
