About this hotel

Situated within stone ruins older than the Kingdom of Bhutan itself, Six Senses Paro honors the ancient history of the land and people. Themed around the distinct 12th-century farmhouse ruins that teeter a stone’s throw away, the lodge transports you back in time while maintaining top standards of the modern traveler. Clear views of snowcapped mountains are backdropped by dramatic skies, with breathtaking views of Paro Valley at every angle. Directly above Paro National Museum, the lodge stands at a breathtaking 8,800 feet. A convenient stay for arriving or departing Bhutan, the resort is but a short drive from Paro International Airport and is also the gateway to the famed Tigers Nest Monastery. Natural timber furniture, cool stone and vegetable-dyed, antique-washed Himalayan rugs permeate the design of the 16 suites and smattering of one-, two- and three-bedroom villas, infusing ancient tones into living quarters. The semi-underground spa offers an indoor heated pool with floor-to-ceiling windows, a fully equipped gym, intimate yoga room and treatment rooms. A pine-filled meditation trail and an organic food menu at the all-day Jangkho restaurant round out superb wellness offerings. Views of Paro Valley, one of Bhutan’s earliest inhabited areas, extend in three directions from almost every angle.
