PLEASE AVOID HIGHWAY RJ-165 (PARATY-CUNHA) Highway RJ-165 is one of the options to get to Paraty. If you travel by car, the GPS route will take you through the town of Cunha. However, this highway is in very bad condition and presents serious danger to drivers. A safer alternative to reach Paraty is HIGHWAY SP-099 (TAMOIOS), which goes through the town of Caraguatatuba. Please note that the street can be flooded when is raining, due to the high tides.
