About this hotel

After a seven-year closure following Hurricane Irma, Peter Island Resort reopened in 2024 with a quietly confident reintroduction. The 1,800-acre private island resort — the largest in the British Virgin Islands — now feels more thoughtfully composed, with nearly all 52 guest rooms relocated directly onto Deadman’s Beach, placing soft sand and calm turquoise water just steps from every terrace. The renovation reoriented the luxury resort’s center toward the shoreline, adding a Yacht Club at the marina that accommodates superyachts up to 200 feet. Deadman's Beach serves as the resort’s social hub, where you'll find a pool, a casual grill, a boutique and courts for pickleball, bocce and basketball. Dining ranges from unfussy (Drunken Pelican) to more formal (The Drake Steakhouse), while the 10,000-square-foot seaside spa overlooks Big Reef Bay and favors spacious treatment rooms and open-air serenity over trend-driven theatrics. With five beaches, a scenic island hiking loop and a renewed sense of intention, Peter Island’s return is well worth the wait.
