About this hotel

On the edge of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento, Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento serves up cliffside calm with Mediterranean glamour, and some of the best sunset views on the coast. Originally built in 1912 as a private villa, the property was transformed after WWII by Antonietta “Nonna Etta” Lauro, sister of legendary shipping magnate and Naples mayor Achille Lauro, into a luxury hotel. Its 21st century incarnation pays homage to its art deco origins in a beautifully restored family-run hotel that leans into contemporary luxury. With its crisp nautical palette and art deco-inflected design, the 61 rooms at Hotel Mediterraneo strike a graceful balance between coastal charm and contemporary elegance. Parquet floors, deep blues and white linens echo the colors of the sea, while clean lines and tailored details lend a timeless feel. Elegant yet unassuming, Hotel Mediterraneo is a serene escape just beyond Sorrento’s bustle. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend your entire stay, savoring panoramic meals at the rooftop restaurants or basking in wellness from land to sea. Lemon-scented gardens surround a tranquil pool, while a private tunnel leads to a floating beach club, and an onsite wellness spa provides more ways to unwind. This is Sorrento at its most effortless.
