About this hotel

Sprawled across 10 acres in Austin, Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Collection offers a one-of-a-kind escape. The hotel, which debuted in June 2020, is a country getaway in the midst of the city.It originally was built in 1928 as an Italianate home for businessman Edgar “Commodore” Perry and his wife, Lutie, where they enjoyed throwing lavish parties. The mansion was inspired by the couple’s European travels. The 10,800-square-foot architectural treasure is on the National Register of Historic Places.Commodore Perry Estate is the first urban hotel for Auberge and marks the brand’s entrée into Texas. For the renovation, designer Ken Fulk retained the elegance and glamour of the property while giving it a modern update. The former home serves as the main hub and its five suites showcase 1920s-style furniture, while the newly added three-story inn has similar Italian and Spanish accents.Explore the historic hotel’s formal gardens and you’ll find an oval pool and Lutie’s, a Southern restaurant with verdant views helmed by husband-and-wife duo executive chef Bradley Nicholson and executive pastry chef Susana Querejazu.
